Our research
The research we commission and publish focuses on issues of primary concern for the membership of the ERG, young Black and Brown people. The focus of the research will typically be relevant to the UK context. Where there are similarities in international contexts, we won’t limit ourselves to a solely British context.
Research impact
One of the fundamental values of the ERG is that our work should be widely available and accessible to communities of colour. Our work will always be published and accessible for those who want to engage with it.
Our research will serve the dual function of making our own communities better informed about a range of issues and it will also be influential in policy thinking and legitimising the voice of young people from minority backgrounds in those conversations.
Research areas
The listed areas below are where the ERG will begin its work, but our research will not solely be limited to these areas.
Employment
Particularly underemployment and unemployment.
Housing
Including access to acceptable standards of housing.
Health
Including wellbeing and mental health.
Wealth inequality
With a focus on outcomes and regional differences.
